Relief & Intaglio Mixed Process Etching


Instructor Jessica Kronika of Fly’n Gypsy Arts

Students will learn the step by step process for creating unique and editioned prints with both relief embossment and intaglio surface effects. Demonstrations of resist techniques for relief etching, various intaglio effects for texturing relief etched plates and printing of editioned and unique monoprints will occur throughout the course.

Fee: $25 per session ($250 for 10 sessions); special discounted season session rate available $225 paid in full at registration. Some supplies will be provided. Deposit required with registration: $150.

Session One: Sept. 30-Dec 2, Fridays 2-5pm

Session Two: Sept 23-Dec 9 Friday 6-9pm

Evening class will run into December due to third Friday gallery openings occurring on 9/16, 10/21, and 11/18.

Leaf printing with Kids
Instructor: Janet Schill

Soon autumn will turn the leaves pretty colors. Try using ink to print the leaves on a Tote bag! Learn to mix colors and print beautiful leaves on a canvas bag. Fun and you can use the bag to carry many things.

Fee: $1

Cards Workshop using Rubber Blocks
Instructor: Janet Schill

Tired of emails? Miss sending notes with a stamp on the envelop? If so you’ll need cards! Not to mention the holidays are coming and you'll need lots of greeting cards to mail out. How about sending one you made? By using a 2x3 inch rubber block transferred from a drawing you'll print cards to send out. Bring a drawing. Students will also make a set of cards to exchange with other students in the class.

Fee: $25

Beginning Screen Printing

Instructor: Janet Schill
We will go over basics of photo emulsion screen printing,

Also introduce 2 color and split fountain printing. Last class we will print on t-shirts using a screen printing press. Studio time will also be available. Price includes screen frame rental, ink, image, papers to print on. Bring t-shirts (if desired) to print on.

Fee: $120

Screen Printing Studio Time

Instructors: Janet Schill

Do you have a screen and just want some screen printing time or help with exposing and printing your screen? Must supply all your papers and inks. Price includes photo emulsion, scoop coater use, squeegee uses, hinges for printing, light table and power sprayer use.

Fee: $75

Paper Papermaking

Instructor Greg Grummer

The class will explore paper coffee can paper making, pour molds and more! What a great way to reused paper garbage. Returning students will be learning about Paper casting!

Fee:$25

TBA Noon-2:30 PM
Returning students can use this time for review and open studio. Bring your supplies! ONLY $10.

Book Making Workshop

Instructor Jessica Kronika of Fly’n Gypsy Arts

This workshop will cover several book binding processes. Demonstrations of glue binding, stitch-binding, and complete building of a book will take place. Students are encouraged to bring a project for completion. The process of preparing book parts, assembly, weighting and drying your unique book will be covered.

Fee: $30 per session, All 3 sessions $75

Date: January 13, 20, and 27, 2-5pm

This class includes some supplies, while other supplies will be available from instructor for purchase

Printing Linoleum

Instructor: Carlos Barberena

We will learn how to carve linoleum plates to create relief prints, and how printing them by hand and with a press. Bring a 8X6 inch drawing ready to transfer to the linoleum.

Fee: Materials included.

Date: Saturdays: 3:00 PM-5:30PM.

A payment of 1/2 down on a class will insure a space in a class. All classes have a 3 student minimum and most have a 8-10 maximum. All supplies are included unless otherwise noted. If a class is full or you can’t make a class because of a time conflict, please call us and we’ll keep you on a waiting list. Want to have a private art party. Just about all these workshops can be done anytime. Just grab three friends and give us a call.
